When I hear people talk about the "Prosperity Gospel" the hair on the back of my neck stands up. There is no doubt that Joel Osteen, Benny Hinn and Joyce Meyer all have thriving ministries. You could say God is using them to change people's lives, and have the proof to back up the claim. However, I cannot reconcile the prosperity gospel to the Jesus I read about in the Bible.
It seems like the prosperity gospel is starting to make it's way into some of the poorest nations in the world. But how? Christianity Today recently ran an article about the increase in churches preaching the prosperity gospel in Africa, accompanied by this 8 minute video.
